Boston Snowfall Record

Boston had so much snow this year that if it was told on April 1st it could have been an April’s Fool joke. No kidding. Bostonian’s were so sick of the snow that they were hoping for more so they would have a record to show for it. Funny – and they do, a new record of 108.6 inches.

The old record was 107.6 inches set in the 1995/1996 winter season. Records have been kept for Boston since 1872 making this their snowiest season in at least 143 years. The National Weather Service reported 2.9 inches of snow fell by 7:00 P.M. on March 15th giving Boston 108.6 inches for the 2014/2015 winter season up to that date.

Boston now has a new Top 5 snowiest season list.

      2014/2015 – 108.6″
      1995/1996 – 107.6″
      1993/1994 – 96.3″
      1947/1948 – 89.2″
      2004/2005 – 86.6″

Now more snow is forecast for Denver and Buffalo Easter egg hunts on Saturday, April 4th. Cold weather and snow just won’t go away or is it global freezing?
