Baltic Sea Ice

The Baltic Sea on average has about a 45% mass ice covering. Records have been kept for 50 years of the amount of ice cover on the Baltic Sea. The previous record was on March 25, 2008 when 49,000 square kilometers of ice was measured. Ice spread of this magnitude at this late in the season is unusual. Now a new measurement has shattered the March 25, 2008 record and at a later date.

On March 29, 2013 a record of 176,000 square kilometers of ice was measured covering the Baltic Sea. A new record of this size dwarfing the previous record shows global warming and climate change to be a farce. Additionally, the previous March 25th record was late in the season and now the new record shows global freezing weather conditions were extended even longer.

Ice breaker ships also have been out in full force for extended hours causing rates to escalate to double their normal cost.
